Re-registering F-600 for higher GVWR

My buddy is working on his wife's 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee and needs help pulling the axle to replace a leaking axle seal. Have it stripped down to just the axle but it will not slide out. Is there a keeper or something that holds it all together? Any help would be great!

depending on if you have a d35 or the 44. the 35 has C clips that you need to pull the diff cover and then pull out the cross shaft out of the diff sou you can push the axle in a little nad pull the clip out. the 44 just has a 4 bolt flange on the end of the housing.

Yeah its the four bolt flange but still couldn't get it to slide out. I think it takes a slide hammer of some sort. I think auto zone might have them for rent. We will be tearing back into it on Sunday.

ya its in there pretty good. an old trick we did on the trail is take the drum or rotor nad slide it on bckwards and put a couple nuts on just enough nad use that as a make shift slide hammer
