Any ideas... My 2001s directionals intermitantly stopped working and now DON"T work yet my hazzards (4 ways) still work. :{

Also I'm looking for a photo of a 2001 tailgate. I putting the new "dodge" and "4x4" stickers on.

Thanks

Good possibilty that the multi-function switch is messed up. Have you tried turning on one of the signals while messing with the hazzard button. A bad contact at the hazzard can mess up the signals-Nicholas

Check to see if the flasher is in tight. Sometimes the HD ones will vibrate a little loose. Or even fall out over time.

I also would check the flasher. The directionals and the hazards use different/seperate flashers. If a new flasher (or just swap them with each other I think they are the same unit) doesnt work then I would tear into the multifunction switch as suggested above.

Back when I worked as a mechanic for Dodge, the multi-function switches were prone to go out quite often. I bet you ten to one that that is the problem with both blinker lights are out.

The OP's 2001 (as well as yours) uses a single electronic flasher. As suggested in an earlier post, there is no HD unit.

The information in the linked thread applies model year 2001: https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/2nd-generation-ram-forum-no-engine-transmission-discussions/164431-turn-signals-hazards-brake-lights-n0-worky.html

The combination flasher on my 2000 Ram failed with the same symptons as the OP mentions. The Trico EP27 is a good place to start if you're planning to throw parts at the problem without isolating it to the multi-function switch vs. the combination flasher.

If you isolate it to the multi-function switch, be sure to check the price at Napa. I got mine for only $78.
Hmmm. Only $78?

Thomas,

Around here that is exceptional! I'll be sending you my orders from now on so that you can pick them up at your super dealer. :D

Hi David,

I'm pretty sure you can click one of the links in that post and find your way to the same dealer - and cut out the middle man (me).

Take care.

Why would I want to cut out my middle man? Actually Thomas, I've booked marked your site both at home and at work--thanks for the site. I need some new front wheel trims.
