Since so many of the threads on this site talk about the problems people have with their trucks, I thought I'd post a short positive note. Traded my 01 ETH yesterday with 106k miles. I was the only owner. The truck had a lift pump replaced at 68k and a VP44 under warranty at 74k. Probably half of the miles were towing 12k lbs. The truck never had to go to the shop for anything beyond the lift pump and VP. Steering has been and still is straight and true. Original brakes were still on it. I had them checked at 95k and was told they still had about 40% left. The orig. Michelin 265's got 85k miles and still had a few left but winter was approaching so I changed them. The 01 was my 5th w/ Cummins (2-5spds. 2-autos 1 6 spd. ) All of them went over 100k and never left me stranded or needed significant shop work. Maybe I've just been lucky, but I think the majority of owners have experiences like me, but just don't post them so the 'problems' seem like the majority. Anyway, take this fwiw. I just hope my 600 treats me as well. I will be placing a classified for some of the items I took off the 01.
