Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 01' shifter knob

01' 5spd shifter knob ... . how does it come off???

pry the shift pattern out of the knob and underneath you will find a nut that you remove and then the knob screws off of the shifter.

any idea what the thread size is on the shifter??

I don't know the exact size but I think it is metric. I do know the nut was metric (15mm?).

It is metric thread pattern. I installed a b&m t handle shifter on my 01 6sp. B&m has a kit that will convert different thread sizes to there shifter thread pattern but not metric. All you have to do is take a die to your stick and re-tread it to match the next closest size which i think was 5/16th or 3/8th. you can see mine under the album (work in progress). Hope this helps.
