Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 01 with a five speed?????

A friend of mine picked up an 01 with a five speed from a broker in Corpus Christie (spelling) Texas.



Can anyone tell me if this is a HO, or an SO motor?. I know the HO's were 245/505,did the SO motor have 235/460??.



My thought is that the HO's came with a six speed .

yup, HO's only came with the 6spd manual in the second gens. if its got a 5 spd, it should be a SO, unless the previous owner swapped it, which is highly unlikely.

You can always look on the engine tag located on the drivers side where the injection pump is bolted to the casing.

Yep, "SO", 235/460. Same on I got, well, it was 235/460 at one time
