Archived '02 3500 2WD Front Wheel Bearing

Put rear brakes on the '02. Went to do the fronts and find the Rt front wheel bearing LOOSE! Dang LOOSE!



Can it be tightened? Stamped on the flange of the nut is; "DO NOT REMOVE". Well shoot, I don't Intend on removing it. I just don't want it to remove itself.

The race may be screwed up you need to inspect it along with the wheel bearing.

I replaced my right front a few months ago. Used a 3/4" breaker bar and four foot extension pipe. A 3/4" OR 1" impact might work. The hub had to be beat off as the inner bearing was being held on by a ridge that had formed on the spindle. After fooling with a file on the ridge for a while I finally found some crocus cloth that easily removed the ridge. Make sure and get a new big nut as it is a self-locking plastic type.

When you got the parts, did you have to get the hub and all? For about $250. 00?
