2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission 02 ashtray

I'm just getting around to replacing the missing ashtray in my 02. I bought it w/out it in there.

There seems to be something missing from my dash. I have a replacement ashtray, but there is nothing for it to pivot/rest on.

Can anyone tell from my pic what is missing? Possibly post a pic with an intact ashtray compartment?

It looks like the pivot on the right side of your dash is broken off...

Yeah, I could tell that the right side was broken.

So there's basically no way for me to have an operational ashtray(not that I need one)?

Maybe I'll rig it up so that it stays closed, I'm tired of seeing a hole there.

Thats where I have my Edge-Comp mounted. You can repair the hinge point with a little creative use of JB Weld and a dremmel tool. Then your ashtray will work just fine for hiding the Edge-Comp
