Archived truck died and lots of codes!

I had a diesel shop install a 275hp injector & a 4in exhaust on my 02 with an auto trans. The truck ran perfect before going to the shop. VP-44 & lift pump only have 3000 miles since replacement. From day one since they did the work it surges & dies when you put it in gear & just isnt smooth, even driving down the road i can feel it running a little rough. I took the truck back to them & they checked the inj pump (no codes) & lift pump (tested good). (and charged me for it) They are still talking Vp44 & lift pump but the truck ran perfect when it went there. Any sugestions? I have another set of HO 245injectors that are good, how hard are they to install doing it myself. Or does the computer need reburnt to match the new injector?
 
injectors change the ability to fuel the vp44 still controls the volume,no reflash needed. install instructions in 24v FAQ. not sure on the stalling maybe sucking air?
 
You may need to get a 2nd oppion , they may be right , but they need to show [ test results ] that what they say is needed .
Do you know any history of this shop ?
I was in the auto repair buis. for 30 yrs. , and every once in a while that does happen .
Did it run OK for them ? how long after you get back did it start acting bad ?
They should have not charged you if it was acting up rite away , at least if they can not show , through testing that the parts are needed .
 
John, I dont think they ever checked it. I got in the truck & went less than a mile & it died on me backing out of a convience store. I have another shop that has been in business 25 yrs going to check it out & give me the second oppion. Will know this week.
 
Document everything that is done & said , then take a few breaths before going back to the 1st shop [ if the 2nd opinion says they made a mistake ] try to calmly negotiate , and document all that also .
Hopefully you will not have to take it further .
