I recently did a "comparo" of the torque curves between the big three diesels... Cummins, Dura-What, and PSD (6. 0). Here's what I found out:
Dura-What
- Torque peaks at 1800 RPM, stays there until 2100, drops a little and levels off again until 3000, and then drops off from there.
PSD
- Torque peaks at 2000 RPM, then immediately drops off steadily to around 3000 RPm where it totally falls off.
Cummins
- Torque peaks at 1400 RPM, then stays there until 2800-2900 RPM and then drops off.
I wonder how many pro-V8-diesel types even know this?
