03-06 Headlight Brightness, any difference?

After driving my 05 this evening and thinking how crappy the headlights are at actually lighting up the road, it got me wondering if the 06 lights are any better.



Does anyone have any experience with these two trucks?



As far as which style looks the best, I'll keep that to myself. :-laf

Installed the brite box and fog-zilla, Made my issues disappear.

According to DC literature I've read the '06 ram has something like 20% brighter headlights and a better beam spectrum when compared to earlier 3rd gens. However, I'll have to wait until my '06 arrives to let you know if it's a truly noticable difference.

I never had an '03-05, but I sure like my '06 headlights - I think they work great, and they are way better than my 2nd gen.

And they look so much nicer than the droopy "eyes" of the 03-05 models.

:-laf :-laf Guess so cuz I think the 06 looks awful, nice that you can see the road though.

from test driving one for a while in the dark, i'd have to say they are a bit better than the 05, which are alot better than my 98.

The "06" is supposed to be 40 % bigger reflector! Should make them brighter!

They might be but by the time you buy 2 new front fenders and the lamps I would think it would be too costly.



I ordered a set of 100w Xenon high beam lamps to replace my fogs and that might be interesting to see what they do.

I could see MUCH further with my 94 with later sport lights on high beams than with my 03 on high bemas. Low beams were about equal between the two trucks. I can't see any further with the high beams on my 03 than I can with the low beams. So I just leave them on low beams.
