The good news is that it still falls under the 7/70 drivetrain warranty so it should only cost $100. The service guy called and said they wanted $1300 because they had to replace the radiator and external cooler due to debris from the failed transmission. We sent him back to DC, those parts are bad because of the transmission failure and I do not intend to pay for them. My guy who is dealing with it mentioned to him that we have three of these trucks and we would go across the street and replace them with brand X if they didn't do the right thing. I think I will stick with the Dodges but next time the work trucks will be manuals.

35k is all my transmission could take

My transmission bit the bullet at 35k... that's due to the way I beat on it though. Dodge replaced the whole transmission (to my surprise) and it should hold me over until I get a full, new aftermarket transmission :D:D

My trucks are all stock but those '03s do a lot of towing, like pretty much all the time at 10k or more. They are replacing the whole transmission in mine as well.

What kind of miles do you have on your trucks?

The '03 dually has about 75k, the '03 QC has 67k(sitting at the dealer), and the '05 has 9k but doesn't do any work. The '03s are getting transmission temp gauges this week too.

Probably more the luck of the draw as the dually has been worked way harder than the QC. It had to pull about 20k (plus itself) over several mtn passes in Colorado last year, foot to the floor 40 mph, and has been fine.
