You will need a bushing to make your current park switch work. The PRNDL switch on the 48 is like an 1" diameter threaded hole, the 47 is like 3/4" threaded hole. I think that is it. What convertor are you using?

First thing you need to do is verify that it is a 48RE. There are a lot of the 2003's that have a 48 case with a 47Re transmission. If it is a 48 the neutral safety switch can just be rewired .

48 reaction shaft support has a seal on it. The 47 does not. The 47 convertor has a different hub than the 48. The bushing is simple to make and you won't have to hack any of your wiring. If you have the two trannies side by side you will see what I mean.

I have a number for a guy who has a 48re that has 7 original miles if you are interested. I found it when I was searching for a engine for a friend... . the guy wanted $1950. I'm not sure if that is a good deal or not, but just thought I'd let you know.
