I have an 04 4x4 4. 10 305/555 and my normal mix of city/highway has never been less than 16mpg and is usually 17/18. I make regular 550 mile trips to visit the family and at 72 mph most of the way I will get right at 20 or just a hair over. I have 40,000 on the truck.

hope that helps.

Mine same as RPolidora's - can get just over 20 (best 21 once) on long trips if it is flat and you don't have any wind. I drive 70 on freeway trips. With a strong headwind here in the columbia gorge, 20 drops to around 17. Never have had a tank under 16 when not towing. Overall total average mid 18's. 48,000 miles, 2003 HO, 3. 73 axle.

At 49,000 miles and 133 fill ups, I'm averaging 17. 4 mpg. Had a high of 21. 0, and a low of 14. 1. Mostly unloaded; usually drive 65-75 on the slab.

16-20 with 37'' toyo mts 6 speed 4:10s, last 300 mile trip was 19. 8 interstate at 83mph and a light wind...

Worse 10. 7

Best 21. 3

Towing 12-14

Empty 20

Mix and city 17. 5

I now have 46K on her if I drive it hard and fast I get 16. I hope this helps.

I've gotten no less than 15 in the city empty, and no more than a little over 17 on HWY, also empty.

Question is , I wonder if going from 285 BFG's too 315's that I might gain some milage, even though Ive added a little more weight and rolling resistance? I remember on the cummins site about their key goals to more MPG through less wind drag, axle alignment, and so forth would have a similar effect on our trucks, all though where on a smaller scale from the big trucks.
