I'm looking for any insight to adding "Limited-Slip" to the rear-end of my 03 4 x 4 truck. I understand from American Axle's website they have an electric locking differential as well..... anyone with experience researching this opiton? I'm running into some road-blocks>>>>>

Right now there is nothing for this rear end! My experience so far is that the limited slip in these things are a POS!!

ditto that. Mine works better than my Dana EVER did, too little/too much friction modifier, ETC

now it just works, no modifier - simple helical gear!!!

:D

Loads of torq, almost enough horse, 13" of rubber X2 due to LS, and she only squeels a little bit. :D

Works great.

Seems to me that a LS/locker for a Chev could maybe work and cost less? Not sure if the carrier is totaly different or not.

they have replaced the limited slip twice! On the pavment it will go side-ways, dry or wet BUT! when in wet grass or mud its a one wheel wonder because the limited slip ratio is only 1. 8! Try yours in the grass and see how it works or better yet wait till it snows.

This LS is the best I've ever been around. And I've had it in mud and snow from a skiff to over 8 inches. My brother-in-law's Jeep has Detroits front and rear and, unless I have the suspension crossed up severely, this LS acts very similar to those, sometimes too much so on off cambers! A couple of inches of snow on top of a clay based mud is one of the slickest surfaces you'll ever find.

Mine works fine too. Did some serious 4wheeling in AZ last week and it didn't skip a beat. In many areas I could feel the truck teeter tottering with tires off the ground and never noticed any lack of LS action. I'm sorry to hear about those of you who are experiencing problems.

Thank-you for all the replies..... it doesn't look like there will be a "LOCKER" (Air or Electric) for quite some time!!! BUMMER!

Converting to LS is currently VERY EXPENSIVE due to the fact that there are no options>>>>>

AA told me that the electric locker might be available for the 2005 Ram and that a retrofit kit may be available then
