I've seen a few posts on this about being careful not to get in water deeper than the vent lines on the axles. I never had really looked at mine before, so today while changing oil I crawled around under there. Each axle (4X4) is routed ffrom the top of the axle and runs to the general location of the top of the shock absorber on the driver's side, front and back. The vent tube also has a little doo-hinkey attached to the end of the hose which I assume lets vapor out, but will somewhat restrict water going in. The elevation of the ends of the vent lines is slightly above the top of the stock tires. Of course, these trucks aren't meant to be submarines and I'm sure prolonged or frequent submergence of the running gear would not be a good idea. But at least I know that the vent line height isn't going to normally be an issue for me. Just for information.
