Thanks, TDR Staff

I know a 3rd gen engine translant in a 2nd gen body is hard but

Vibration under power, (harmonic damper?)

Hi guys, 1st post. Done ALOT of reading about my issue and can't find the cause.

2003 auto afe blade runner gt turbo header and intake mbrp 5 inch exhaust and edge ez.

So I'm getting this knock at idle seems to be coming from bell housing. Pulled trans and nothing was cracked like I hoped to find. I ordered a bd flexplate since I'm here and will be doing rear main and cam seals.

Bought the truck 1k miles ago and its in immaculate condition original owner LOTS of receipts from dealer and service records. I did a 4hr mountain cruise off road but not beating her actually only in 4 wheel for 30 mins max just to be easier on her(I thought). Now it's knocking. I can really hear it at idle and it's spuratic and sometimes won't do it at all. I may hear a little chatter if I'm driving less than 5mph and let off the throttle.

Thanks for any input. RN transmission is in the garage and I'm waiting on billit flexplate

Something in the Torque converter comes to mind. I would pull an oil sample of both the engine and transmission to see if it has any clues.

"I may hear a little chatter if I'm driving less than 5mph and let off the throttle. " IMO this may be a different noise: Get a mechanical oil pressure gauge on the engine and check the oil pressure. The oil cooler area has a couple of valves that can rattle when you let off the throttle due to low oil pressure, weak springs, etc. I could get mine to rattle by revving and letting off the throttle and a screwdriver to an ear on the oil cooler was painfully loud. Other things to check are valve lash and for bent pushrods. Noise travels pretty far on these as I found out...

Is this normal TC Noise? I drained the fluid out and there's no metal in it and color seems good and red. I did order an oil test from blackstone and am going to start the engine with trans unhooked when I put the rear main and cam seals in tomorrow or Friday. I went by and spun a few TC's on transmission's and it seemed normal? Something to do with the dog ears hitting? Once I put the truck in gear the noise goes away it's only & idle in park.

This is the flexplate looks like bolts may have been loose on crank but I pulled em off with an impact so I can't say for sure.
