Archived 03 died in saluda NC

Filled up then hard start went down the road about 15 miles and died off 26 in saluda NC



03 dodge 3500 stock except for stacks has never had lift pump replaced 120k

seemed like it wasnt getting any fuel



we are traveling to Bristol TN for the nascar race then to Upstate NY



need to get back 2 NY as soon as possible



What can we do to get us home? Know anyone that has a pump and need help 2 put it in on our way back from bike week and dont have much for tools on hand.

also checked the codes wrode it down in the truck but left it their
beleave it was a p 0628 but not sure will

on a hotel computer and have no other internet access feel free 2 call my cell if u can help us out

I,m not sure on 03 s. Can you cycle key 3 times to

see codes.

changed fuel filter
no change

Notice anything odd in the fuel canister?

Did it look like proper greenish diesel?

Not familiar with the 3rd gens. Possible the pressure or vacuum sensor in the fuel system has gone south or become disconnected?

P628 is a lift pump code... sounds like your lift pump has died, although when mine died I could re-start the truck and it would run for about a minute then stop again. You have 2 choices (1) remove the stock lift pump and install a hose fitting to replace the pump... the truck will run without the lift pump, or (2) replace the lift pump. I think Geno's has stock replacement for $179 or upgrade to a FASS pump.
