Let us know if the new '03's can be hooked up to Cummins INSITE program. I was talking to a regional tech rep for Cummins and he gave me some insite into the ECM's of the past and future. The old ECM's were made by Motorola and the software was loaded by Dodge (they loaded what they wanted to and didn't tell Cummins what they used). Cummins didn't care either because they just sell the engines, ECM and harness not the software.
Anyway he told me that the new '03's are still a Motorola ECM but that the software will now be totally a Dodge software and wouldn't work with INSITE only the MOPAR Diagnostic System or DRB tool. He said that he hasn't had one to verify this but as with the old ECM and the new Dodge loads what they want and keeps a pretty tight lip on whats loaded and they are not required to tell Cummins because they just sell the motor and that's it, Dodge has to supply the warranty, parts and everything else, not Cummins.
