having installed my probe post turbo on my truck, and not towing any trailer yet. I was wondering what kind of temps you guys are seeing with the edge box and and afe panel(stock housing). I done a run down the highway for about 1 mile at wfo throttle and never seen above 644 on the x-monitor. I was sure that with all I have read here that I would see higher temps than that?thinking when I do the banks exhaust I might go pre turbo then, any thoughts? Barry

With my set up (5" exhaust, DD airbox, EZ w/elbow) I can get to 1400* easily at WOT. Your temps sound a little low to me, even for being post turbo. Another interesting thing that I have noticed is that everyone I talk to with an X-monitor seems to read much lower temps no matter where their pyro is mounted.

Just to confirm that maybe the X monitor is reading low, I can hit 750 degrees with my Autometer mouted post turbo running empty.

I run a X-Monitor pre turbo, I also ran a regular guage for awhile that was cilibrated. What I came up with is that the X-Monitor is about 50-75 degs low. The higher the temp the less it seemed to be off.

Its not really wrong, the problem is that the way the thermo couple works I have been told, the change in the ambient air temp were the connections are will effect the millivolt from the thermocouple from what I understand.

Bottom line is I never let mine get about 1200 degs, so even if it is 100 of that is still only 1300.

With my set-up I can only getting it that high when pulling a load and at high rpms.

checked mine against an isspro, and it is so close I would say the same readings. after talking with some local shops they say it sounds normal for temp in the area not loaded.

Move it pre-turbo. The turbo is such a big restriction that the real heat that is up there never gets to the post turbo probe before cooling off.

With mine. . I'll hit about 1300 WOT and it won't go much hotter then that. . That's driving empty :D I'll cruise around town from around 450 - 700 f.
