03 exhaust 5"?

I have an 03 QC long box and would like to install a exhaust system on it I would like to go 5" because well just because. In searching Ebay I a lot of good deals for 04. 5 and up 5" from turbo back Anything for an 03 is 4" to the muffler and 5" tail pipe Why? what is the difference between 03-04 and 04. 5 as far as exhaust Thanks for your help Craig

The 03-04 trucks have a 3 1/2" exhaust elbow coming off the turbo. The 04. 5 up has the 4" elbow. You can buy a exhaust elbow from a 04. 5 & you will have a better flowing elbow to use the 5" exhaust from a 04. 5 up truck. I just sold one a few weeks back.

5 inch is wasted and usually LOUD from the posts I've read. Under 500 h. p. its no help of any value.

I've got 5" turbo back S. S from Magnaflow and love it. There is no comparison with a straight piped exhaust. The sound is deeper and smoother. It is actually more pleasant driving, it's not so annoying. I don't have many mods, but the faster you get rid of the heat, the better off you are. Other brands of 5" exhaust may not be like this though.
