'03 EZ & Code

I'm considering purchsing an Edge EZ for my '03 CALIF truck (Auto, 4x4) and I had the chance to 'test drive' it before I bought it. Well towards the end of the drive my little yellow 'check engine' light came on. Turns out the code is a P 0148 (Fuel delivery error). I don't want to buy it unless I can figure out what caused it. Anyone else had that problem at all? Thanks

My check engine light came on about a week after installing... I haven't taken it to have it checked, however.

Do you know what code it set? You can find out by cycling the key on and off three times (leaving it in the on position) and the code will flash in the odometer readout. I'm curious to know what it is.

It will go away after 40 starts. Mine has come on twice since I put it on. Both times was when I was towing. But I have towed a lot of different times, without it coming on. I never checked the code. It hasn't come on since I changed my air filter, I don't know if that had anything to do with it.

Fuel Delivery Error huh? I don't supporse you have a fuel pressure gauge do you? My . 02 would be that you starved the high pressure pump for fuel. I have "HEARD" that with an EZ and WOT (wide open throttle), you can drag the fuel pressure down to 0 on an extended run, which usually causes stuttering and the like. I've not heard of that condition throwing a code, but who knows. Do some searching of the forum for fuel pressure. There are several documented cases of the EZ starving the fuel system. IF in fact that is the problem, a quick call to Keith at DD and about $400 will solve your prob. They have a nice pusher pump setup for our '03's.
