03 head assy. material

Can someone please update us on the type of casting material used for the head of an 03 Cummins?

It is made of cast iron if that is what you are asking.

That aluminum thing IS the valve cover. The black thing it the vent tube breather cover.

That is a relief, as it does look like aluminum on pictures, but as someone else pointed out the valve cover looks like it may be part of the head in small pictures. It is not very clear.

The top piece made of black plastic on the top of the engine is the Vanity cover.

The Piece under it is the Valve cover (aluminum), the piece under that is the "rocker box" it houses the electronic wires and connections from wiring harness to the fuel injectors, under that is the Cylinder head.

as anyone seen the cannon ball express that dodge built holy cow this is one of the finest truck you will ever put your eyes on. you will find a pic in this months truckin mag check it out. anyway the cheap looking piece on top of the head is billet on this truck vs. black it looks much better. i want to find one aftermarket anyone know where to get one?

Isn't that the silver dually that Performance West did? IMHO, that thing was pretty ugly. .

i liked it! good looking ride i like the 6" gibson pipes that ran along under the truck like tube steps and the turned out at the back of the cab. i was not crazy about the 22" wheels and funky bumper. cummins also reprogrammed it to 370 hp and 750ftlbs. i guess the new 6 speed will hold this extra torque??? i will try to find a pic and post it hear.
