03 Headlight bulb cup

Before I take my headlight out the 03, I would like to find out from other members who have already removed their headlight assembly, can the cup in front of the bulb be removed to help with more light? By the looks of it I think the assembly is probaly sealed and the cup can not be reached. I don't know if that would help the problem of not enough light or would it make it a pencil beam. Any info would be helpful.

You would have to separate the lens from the reflector to remove the shroud. But I think by removing the Shroud from inside the light would make it more like a floodlight, and worse onroad Not to mention illegal.

Don't you think that if these would be brighter and DC could have saved 10 cents a cup they would have?
