03 Headlight Opinions.......

Hello to all the very fortunate owners of the new 03 CTD's !

I have a question for owners of 03 trucks that previously owned 2nd generation trucks..... What are your impressions of the headlights & fog lights in comparison to the 2nd Generation trucks ? I have an '00 2500 Quad Cab Sport with the quad halogen headlamps. They do an awesome job lighting up the highway, especially on high beam. The standard lights on my 98 2500 Sport were decent, but the quad halogens are hard to beat ! Thanks in advance for your answers !

The high beams on my '03 Sport don't compare to the high beams on the '01 sport. :{ It seems that the outboard lights are amber and only the inner lights are head lamps. I sure do miss those old high beams.

Beats the anemic lights on my 97. That is all I have to compare it to.

gsbrockman---I was going to ask about the same question but you beat me to it. I'm pondering on getting me a new one. I wondering it the fog lights on the 03 are any better. I put the Catz MSC on my 00 and they put out some light.

FIRST adverse thing I noted (the ONLY one, come to think of it!) when I went from my '91 to my new '02, was the comparatively POOR headlights on the NEW truck - the OLD truck was MUCH better vision-wise in dark driving - the price we pay for those "designer" headlights, where styling is rated more important than function...

I put a Brite-Box on my 01 and put the jumper in for the fog lights in place of the relay. MAN!!! What a HUGE difference! I wouldn't figure it will take our comrades here in the TDR & @ Geno's to develop similar short-cuts for the G3 trucks.

My observation is that the illumination is there it's just too low -- as in pointed at the ground. I'm going to look and see if I can point it up a notch -- but then I suspect that's done on purpose so you don't blind people when you have a load.

light bulbs

i've got one on order, and am considering ordering a genuine hid upgrade kit from philips, however, does anyone know what kind of bulbs the low beams are, i've heard 9004?
