03 honeycomb to 04 sport grille insert swap

This is a repeat I'm sure, but I haven't been successful in searching for the info I need.



I've removed my factory grille inserts, I have the little rivets. I used a ceterpunch to remove them, and it worked great. The member that's swapping with me owns an 04. Evidently, his grill inserts are held in with phillips head screws. Has anyone done this swap? WIll it work? It seems like I've read multiple times that it will.



Also, I CANNOT find the part number for the little rivets. . anyone got that?

I did the same swap and both were held in with the pop out rivets that you discribed.



I do not remember the PN, but they were easily obtained from the local dealer. Check one of your used ones against the holes in his grill to verify that they will hold.

The little rivets are $pendy. I think they wanted $27 for the rivets alone.

I bought the grill from the dealer for $80 and it came with the rivits. It was a perfect swap in my 04.

Talked to my trade partner, he said that he in fact did have the little rivets like I did. So now, I'm just anxiously awaiting his inserts. My poor girl looks like she got her teeth knocked out. I've gotten lots of questions and strange looks while driving around without any inserts! Looks like the swap will be a success. Thanks TDR!
