i was wondering if any one knows what make of lift pump is on the 03? will it fit the 98. 5. ? on third pump over 300. 00 from cummins. thanks for any help. :) :) Oo. Oo.

Looked at an 03 the other day and did not see a lift pump, but that was just a quick look. Maybe theres one in the tank.

My source says that the common rail without egr doesn't use a lift pump, and the egr engine does.

Will the lift pump off an egr engine work? I don't know. I do know that it looks totally different. But whether it works or not will depend on the pressure/flow specs etc.

Both Engines use lift pumps, there just in different places.

Answer to your question, the 03 lift pump will not fit your 98. 5.

I suggest calling a different Cummins distributor to get a different price.

Well it obviously wont fit on the back of our cannisters... but who said you have to mount it in that location only. If the numbers are good (pressure, volume), I'm sure a custom bracket and a little fancy plumbing would be easy. Numbers... we need numbers!! Anyone know??

Unless, by looking at the picture, this thing dumps straight into the new style cannister. Maybe there is no physical way to attach any kind of fittings on the output side. Hmmmm.

Hey, guys, FourBarR is here in Kanada, where a $ is worthless, uh, worth less. :D Everything is 1. 6X more expensive than down in the US of All. Thus, a $170US lift pump is about... ... . $280CDN. :{ :{ :{

You guys down there have it SOOOO GOOD!

If the numbers are good and this pump is dependable why not swap out our filter houseing and put the whole new setup in our trucks, after that it should just be pumping.

This would be a good project for someone, not me, not enough time to be doing R&D.
