'03 rear main leaking?

I have noticed over the past 5,000 mi. a small oil spot working its way down the back of my oil pan. It is now almost to the bottom. I was wondering if anybody knew if this was common and if its the rear main or pan gasket? The truck has 60,000 mi. , and with the Valvoline blue syn. 5/40 there is no stoppin' it when it finds a way out!

Could the oil be coming from the engine breather tube on the driver side of the engine?

I'll double check, but, the oil is coming down dead center of the back of the pan. Thanks for the tip!

You might just run around the oil pan with a wrench and check to see that the bolts are all tight. Then clean the oil drip and see if it reappears. If it does then the rear main is probably the problem.



I'll be changing mine out is a couple of weeks.
