Fans not torqued to specs. from fact. Was told some have come off, just dropped down and caused over heating, no damage. Mine was loose. Was told it takes a special adapter to torque it properly, in other words, dlr. should do it. I think they said 85 ft. lbs.

That sure didn't take long. Truck a week old and already a recall. What was the source of your info, Yogi?

Cheers, Casey

I stopped by the dlr. this afternoon to check on some things I had ordered, and the shop foreman came out and asked if I stopped in for the recall, I laughed and said yea, you got time to do it today, and he said they would get right on it. Took me by surprise, I thought he was kidding.

I stopped by the dealer to have the leaking clearance lights replaced and asked about the fan recall. They have not heard of it. Any idea if all their production was involved or if only up to a certain date? Was it the large nut/hub or the hex bolts attaching the fan to the fluid drive. I checked the fan, but it is not visibly loose.

Casey

Its the large nut/hub. I never asked about the production #'s, don't know why your dlr. didn't have it yet, DC is slow tho.

RECALL #B28

Thanks to your post, I had this taken care of today. It was the first at my dealer. They punched in the VIN and it came right up. I got "RECALL #B28" from the receipt.
