My truck seems to be idleing rough and has slowly gotten worse over a month or so. I did change fuel filter and I run Howes cleaner EVERY tank. I assumed it was/is bad injector but the oil level is fine. It seems to run okay above idle but I do feel like it has lost some power. I used to pull up any hill pulling a travel trailer without downshifting or loosing more than 3 mph with edge juice on 2. Now it looses 8-10 mph then downshifts. I even tried level 3 and it was a little better but still drops off. Any advice on where to look? This box is a replacement from edge and not the original one that worked good. But it does make more power than stock. Just doesn't seem to boost as high or something, I dont have a guage but I used to hear it as it chugged-lugged up a hill, now it seems quieter.

How are your EGT's? For what it's worth, it could still be a stuck injector, at least in my mind. I had noticed the idle on mine seemed to be slightly rough. Yesterday I pulled the injectors to replace the nozzles, and noticed the needle in the nozzle on two injectors was sticking. The one I pulled out of #6 was sticking pretty bad. Nothing was affected, yet, no low power, or high EGT's, but I suspect it was getting there. Too bad these injectors aren't quite as easy to change as a 12V. :D

Did that fix your shaky idle? Where do you buy new tips? You make it sound as though its easy to change the tip, or to take out and clean. Is that possible or do you need new parts?

Sorry, didn't mean to imply it was easy. It's not, at least until you've done it a few times. I'm just upgrading the injectors. Can't tell you if it's smoothed out the idle. I'm still doing a few other things, and haven't fired it back up, yet.

Jim

edit: yes, it does idle smoother.
