03 std versus HO

Ok, this may be a stupid question but until I ask it I'll be wondering. I have an '03 quad,long bed ,2 wheel drive 5speed with the "std" output eng. Can anyone tell me what cummins did to change to the HO for this same year. I like the reliability, and durability of the stock engine and was curious if my engine could be refitted to equal the HO with "stock" parts. Anyone know if internals are same, electronics,exhaust? I realize I have the 3. 5 inch exhaust to muffler and that it was changed to 4 later, but don't know if this was part of the 03 HO.

YOu can however buy an Edge EZ (or any 50hp box) and be better than any stock HO



And PS - the full 4inch came on 04. 5+ models
