Besides Chrysler, who makes new calipers?

Some time ago, I decided to go to an aftermarket 4 inch SS turbo back exhaust system on my '03 CTD 6 speed manual as recommended from my local diesel repair shop due to the fact of the better
exhaust note. I will tell you that the out-of-cab exhaust note is wonderful and sounds great. Since this upgrade, I get the typical drone at 2000 rpm like some many of your folks have
either written in about or have experienced. The drone has really been driving me crazy lately and I want to quiet it back down. I currently have a muffler and resonator on the truck and still have the "drone".
I looked into replacing with the OEM Chrysler system and they wanted to quote me for an entire turbo back system.

Sorry to belabor the point... I would like to just get back to a factory exhaust sound on my truck or even quieter if possible. Anybody know an aftermarket muffler that works to do
exactly just this?

Thanks for reading.

When I was changing the the exh outlet from behind the tire to in front, I had to move the muffler forward about 6" maybe a bit more, for the turn in the pipe. I also replaced the muffler from a 4" to 5". What I did not know until I started driving it and with a load that I had all but eliminated the drone. So it stands to reason on my part the moving the muffler forward did eliminate it.

I’ve had 4 different systems on my truck(I do a fair bit of testing)none of them have had any drone. The first system I did a rather stealthy mod.I added a open pipe in front of the oem muffler and went over the frame rail and dumped the pipe straight down under the bed whereit did not show.Good flow and sound-not loud. All the others have been from AFE,and none have had any drone.

If you have a non cat model-non California you will need a bit more exhaust to silence it well.
You also have a smaller outlet at the turbo that can be replaced with a larger version from the 05 style turbo

Easiest thing to try, add a 5" extension on the tail pipe and make sure the exit is level and outside the body lines. The stock exhaust exiting under the box is the worst drone inducer there is.

Thanks for all your responses. Not looking to extend the length of the exhaust outside the body lines of the truck. This actually is my Dad's truck and I know he would not go for that look or practicality for him. Guess we could look into an AFE muffler and see if that takes cares of it.
