03 to 06 or wait 2 years

I have a 130k on my 03. It isn't giving me any problems BUT if I don't get a new one this year I need to wait 2 years.



If i get one it will be after July. The only change in the truck besides the color is the bed length and the new one will stay bone stock.



I figure the 06 stock should perform like my SO 03 with the mods listed below. What do you guys think?



I have been watching the used trucks at my local dealer pretty close. He has one like I want with 5k on it but they want $200 more than they offered me a new one for! IDIOTS!

If you really want a new truck, do it now. I traded in my 4. 5 year old Toyota Tundra on a 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 DRW Quad Cab Diesel. I ended up financing what I did 4. 5 years ago even though the truck was nearly twice as much. Why do I say this? I say this because your truck value is more now than in 2 years. Also, in 2 years, a new truck may be even more money and interest rates will probably be higher. Thirdly, the 2006 motor can take the current diesel, but the 2007+ can ONLY run on low sulfur fuel and has much more pollution control to bog down the engine.



If you really like your current truck, you can be ahead by driving it until it quits.

not to mention you will have just payed off or close to paying off the 03 (given your doing a 60 mos term) just to start all over again and do another 60 months for a truck that will have more stuff on it to go wrong... I say if you want the truck now, get rid of the 03, get a truck that you see yourself still driving 10 years from now. As mentioned before, these trucks are getting more and more pricey each year... who knows the price tag 2 years from now.

Good Day all. I was in the same boat that you are in. I have a 2002 12 foot flat deck and it has over 650,000km so it is time for a new one. But I need the flat deck and the power. My 02 is set up just right for what I need and for me to get a new one now will cost to much to set up and I will lose the deck and the power. So my 02 is still running strong and it is almost paid for so I'm going to keep it pay it off and then get a new one because I will have a work truck and a PLAY TRUCK(NEW PLAY TRUCK :-laf )

an 06 would be slower with no mods than your 03 with mods.

that motor and the 06 seems almost the same when driving unloaded that i have noticed.
