Running edge juice intake bio once in awhile and #2. No power, max speed 45MPH its my friends rig not mine ,plus he wasnt cooling turbo before shutting down. Thanks Guys Ron

Well if the compressor blades are hitting the compressor housing is a good start.

If the shaft can be moved in and out its usually shot.

If there is oil in liquid form pouring out the front or rear or middle of the turbo its usually shot.

Most healthy turbos will only have . 020" play up or down movement and will spin somewhat freely after they have been cooled down to room temperature.

Sometimes turbos with worn bearings will moan when they are de-spooling (like when you let off of the throttle).

Pull the intake hose and see if you can spin it by hand. If it spins and makes no noise, i would say your boost tube blew/came off before or after the inter-cooler. .

The turbo is supposed to spin isn't it? It should spin freely by hand and you shouldn't hear any noise (grinding or moaning of any kind) from a healthy turbo.

Pull the intake tube off the turbo, the shaft should spin freely. There will be play up and down because the shaft normally "floats" in oil, but there should not be any play, none, front to back. If there is front to back play your thrust bearings are worn or gone, however this would not nessesarily cause you to lose power. I agree with an earlier post, check your boost hoses to make sure they are intact. It actually sounds like its in "limp mode".

What year is your friends truck? I have a stock turbo off my "03" with 10k on it, it is tight, will let it go very reasonable, send me a email if interested.
