03 vs. 04.5

Other than H. P upgrades are there any 03 owners that wish they would have bought an 04. 5? If so why? I currently own a 99 and am concidering a newer truck.

When I was looking for my truck the 04. 5s were available. I agonized over going with the 555 or the 600. Either one would do what I needed done. I used the availability of the 04. 5's to get a VERY good deal on my 04.



After reading about all the issues with the 04. 5 -05's, I'm very happy with my 04 (52K miles, absolutely no problems, normal service schedule "B").

Performance wise, the 555 seems to be the winner in respect to fuel mileage and response to upgrades.

No emissions crap, less problems, responds better to upgrades, better fuel mileage, and on a dyno it sure in hell doesnt show a 45lb ft difference.



Wouldnt trade it for a new 05 for anything

Other then the sunroof option, I will keep the 03. It has performed great for 2 years and 60K miles. Plus I just change it every 6 months, and say I have a new truck anyhow.

I have to agree my 03 has been great with no problems what so ever..... The only thing I would of done differently is go with the 4:10 rear end with the 315 tires

I second what FDavid said. After seeing the changes in the new ones I'm already planning on keeping this truck for MANY years to come.

I am very pleased with my 04. 5. It has good power, good fuel economy (20+ empty), and I have had zero problems with it in the 1 year that I have had it.



There are a couple of members that have had both the 555 and the 600/610. Hearing their opinions would be the most valuable information you could get.

Heck my 03 is still NEW to me. LOL. Only have 14k on it. Really like it. I am glad I bought when I did. Price,no cat etc. I paid $31 and change for mine new. Seeing them used at this and more now. Only had a drone that the hydro boost hose TSB took care of. Door welts etc. on mine are perfect. Does drift RIGHT but tire wear is perfect.

Love my 03'! Have'nt had many problems at all... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ..... a couple TSB's, and one oil change in 40,000 miles, and still going strong!

Well I wish I had bought the 04 305/555 I test drove instead of the 04. 5 325/600 that I bought. I have had most of the problem issues so far, injector replacement(Think I still have another bad one), low mileage after 15000 miles, kitty sucks, turd fuel event sucks also, etc.



The only good thing so far is the Juice/Attitude is available for the 600s first. But that will probably only be a short lived advantage.

The headrests are nice on the rear seats of the new trucks, my '03 does not have them. 24,500 trouble free miles so far.

i am 99% sure my 04. 0 has them too [1% not sure as i don't ever sit back there and haven't taken a closer look, but i do remember seeing them there, and my 03 didn't have them]

I'll velcro some pillows on top of my back seats. Ones that vibrate.

Throttle Cable

and an real lift pump not a junk in tanker pump
