Folks, Getting close to ordering a '05. Passed on the '04. 5 leftovers hoping for a few less bugs and sl better mpg's. Been look'in for a nice '03 but none so far. Just ran across (dealer lot) a 2500 '04 w/ 30k. Might work but wondering what's the HP/TQ on a '04? ('03 is 305/555 and '04. 5 is 325/600 or 610).

Appears the '03's have a 1-3 mpg edge over the '04. 5's. Where does the '04 stand re this issue? Haven't looked under the hood of the 30k mile '04 yet - tooooo *** cold here (-18f) but soon as it warms up... ...

Could probably drive the used '04 (if it's a '04. 5 will pass) for 9k$ less than a '05... ..... Worth it?

Make sure and double check any 03's you look at as the SO motor was still available then. The 2003's could be ordered with an SO motor and an Automatic or 5 speed or an HO motor with Auto or 6 speed. The SO is the 250/460 motor. Hopefully you will not run across any CA motors up there in the great white north but there is a thread about a guy in IL that bought a saltwater damage truck that turned out to be a CA motor. Just my thoughts!!
