Got the 03' yesterday and weighed it today. I tried a search but came up with 1956 threads too many to go through, so sorry if this is a repeat.

The truck was empty no people, dogs or paper work, the scales are certified and we were down about 5-6 gallons of fuel.

front axle- 4490lbs, rear tires about 6 inches from touching the scales.

rear axle-3050 lbs, fronts tires just about 6 inches off the scale.

entire truck- 7600 lbs

All my options are listed on the signature.

My 2000 3500QC 4x4 ETC auto with everything but leather. Nothing in it weighed.

Front - 4420

Rear - 2960

Total - 7380

I would think a 6 speed would add 150 lbs more to the truck bring the total to 7530. Looks like the 03's weigh about the same as the 2nd generation trucks.

fireman56,

When I weighed the truck I was 5-6 gallons SHORT of a full tank, that would be less than 50 pounds. To add to my balance, if the tank was totally full.

Oh, I see you were dowm 5-6 gal- not down TO 5-6 gal. Looks like we are all having a hard time on this one. So I'll just throw in the ole' lady and that'll more than make up the difference. And that's all I've got to say about that.

I'm Heavy

guys:

Weighed mine the other day: 9,160 lbs w/ full tank of fuel, tool boxes and me /w the missus.

front axle = 4,830 lbs

rear axle = 4,330 lbs

total = 9,160 lbs

Ordered a 60 gallon toolbox/fuel tank (Christmas Present) to replace Delta main toolbox.

Wonder why I only get 12 to 16 MPG?

Multiple Weigh-Ins...

In the last couple of weeks before Christmas, I hear there was a an old boy down at the CAT scales weighing his 2nd Gen 24V truck every morning at 9:00 sharp. Got a different answer every time, too. From what they say,

On the first day of weigh-in, he threw into the back...

- A 5th gear kit with fully splined shaft

On the second day of weigh-in, he threw into the back...

- Two quarts of Amsoil

- and a 5th gear kit with fully splined shaft

On the third day of weigh-in, he threw into the back...

- Three Super Plugs

- Two quarts of Amsoil

- and a 5th gear kit with fully splined shaft

On the fourth day of weigh-in, he threw into the back...

- Four worn out trackbars

- Three Super Plugs

- Two quarts of Amsoil

- and a 5th gear kit with fully splined shaft

On the fifth day of weigh-in, he threw into the back...

- FIVE NEW LIFT PUUUUUMPS

- Four worn out trackbars

- Three Super Plugs

- Two quarts of Amsoil

- and a 5th gear kit with fully splined shaft

:D :D :D
