04 2500 Code P 0118

Gents,



Can anyone tell me what this is and how to clear it? I just installed a Quadzilla Commander electronic guage package and got this code with a check engine light. The Commander is hooked to the blue wire from the MAP sensor and the "tan" wire from the water temp sender. The Commander seems to be working / reading accurately. I DID NOT install any type of "box" or tuner. just the Quadzilla Commander Guage.

Engine Coolant Temp sensor above maximum acceptable voltage.

Try unhooking batteries for a few hours and see if it goes away.

Did exactly that - for about 20 minutes - then plugged back in and it went away! The ECM must somehow see a problem when you first install, but then "get used to it" and turn off the light. strange...

I have sometimes seen people disconnect the temp sensor with the key on for a sec and it will leave a code.



Not sure if that happened or not but, it has happened that way before.

i will second that, i apparently didnt get the connector completely tight and it came loose and i popped the code but quickly figured it out and have had no issues since
