'04 2500 Tilt Wheel Lever

I have an '04 2500 quad cab with 69000 miles, got in yesterday & reached for the tilt lever & it moves down but does not release the steering wheel. Naturally the steering wheel is tilted all the way up as i always tilt it up for ease of getting out. I have an appointment scheduled at the local dealer next Tuesday, just wondering if anyone has experienced this & what the fix was?

Probably most of us don't move the steering wheel. I'm worried about breaking wires so I don't.

I see this is an older post. That lever just pulls off. It could be pulled away from the column. Push on the outside of the lever towards the column at a point nearest the steering wheel. How'd you make out?
