03-04 injectors in a 05?

I am wondering who out there is running a 04. 5- 05 with bigger injectors.

What kind are they and do they smoke constantly, the reason I ask is I have an 05 that I have put 80hp injectors in (by Scheid Diesel) and now my truck constantly smokes. No matter how you drive it, it always has a haze of black smoke coming from the tail pipe. And this is with out any fueling boxes or programming.

An now after talking with a few differnet people, they are telling me injectors are the last thing that I should of done to a 04. 5 & up truck. Unless you are wanting huge power, because once you change injectors on these trucks the driveablity goes to s@#t.

Thanks

I have 90hp ddp's and I dont smoke with the boxes off. With the boxes on I can smoke all I want.

Just cruising there is no smoke or constant anything out of the tail pipe.

I have Industrial Injection 32 Litre per minute 8 holes and with the smarty on 7 and the tst on 2, I have very little smoke and no smoke while cruising down the road . Now when I flat foot it , thats a different story, Here comes the fuel. But all in all I have very very little smoke.

Thanks for the replys, I guess then here is my question: What do I do now, or who out there can help me? I cant get anythying to make it stop smoking, the truck is not responsive on the bottom end (kind of laggy). The turbo contantly surges, it shifts and surges, let off the throttle, even when on the throttle lightly. The turbo is one that Scheid Diesel built, S-3 with 64 compressor and 14 (80) exhaust housing and I can't seem to get anyone at Scheid to tell me what the exhaust wheel is?

This thing is pretty embarrassing to drive, in town people look at it like what a P. O. S. I have had people tell me that this set up would be a killer, and know I have a truck that runs like crap! I need to know if I have to take out my injectors and go back to stock to get this thing so I can drive it or what.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Snoxracer

Have you ever checked some basic things like boost leaks? Boost leaks are fairly common and could lead to smoking problems, but your issue sounds more like a set of substandard injectors which will only be cured with a replacement set.

Can't Scheid help you? I havent worked with them before, but I would think you could take your truck down and have them check it out??

i had injectors in my 04. 5 and swapped them to my 06. i always have a haze coming out of my exhaust! i really notice it while it idles. also, they seem louder then stock injectors. i have no drivability problems. my truck flat out rips! i usally drive around with the ramifier turned off because the injector rattel is so bad!

I have DDP 90's in my 06. We are at 4000 feet above sea level amd truck (761 hp and 1528 ft lbs. ) only smokes until my turbo makes boost and then it goes away. I sell a ton of Lenny's injectors and nozzles and have only had one complaint from a buyer who lived in Big Bear CA over 7000 ft. He complained of excessive smoke. We gave him his money back and he went on his merry way. If smoke is a concern go with the DDP 50's if you do not mind the smoke and want the big power go with 90's

Are schieds injectors EDM'S or Extrude honed? That could be the problem. The edm's in my CR smoked at idle compared to the extrude honed.

I live about 7 hours form Scheid Diesel's shop, so I didn't really want to drive it down there. But anyway I pulled the injectors out and sent them back so they could test and check them out. I guess that there might be an issue of the wrong injectors, possibly 03-04 injectors in my 05? Anyway I'll keep you all posted and Thanks for the replys!
