5th wheel hitch by uhaul??

No 12V power?

i have an 06 and a friend of mine has an 04. 5 dodge. we are having problems with our brake boxes. i have a pilot sure pull (it is digital) that i took out of my 01 and put it in my 06. it worked flawlessly in the 01. but in the 06 it won't stay where you set the volts. it may show 6 volts one time and 8 the next or 12 or 3. and the 04. 5 has a teknosha voyager and the brakes are either locking up or feel like they arent working. any ideas?

I have a Tekonsha Voyager in my 2005 CTD. I also had it in the 2003 Ram 1500 before this one. I pull 2 different trailers with it regularly. It seems I have to fine tune it everytime I change trailers or it will also lock up everytime I touch the brakes. However after some very fine tweaking with both knobs it seems to always work correctly. I try to get it set so that at moderate braking the led light goes orange and will only go red during hard braking. Pretty much it seems when the led goes red, the brakes are locked. It has acted the same in both trucks and seems to act the same on both trailers.

I have a Prodegy on my 04. 5' that I use when I pull my TT. It works great. I used the same Prodegy on my 96' 1500 to pull the same trailer & it worked great in that application also. The only thing I would suggest is check all electrical connections. GOOD LUCK.

i tow a 12k fifth wheel and got the truck with a drawrite navigator II and hated it. I was always screwing with the settings. So on the third day of a month long trip i went to camping world and bought the prodigy for about $130 plus $15 for the dodge quick connect cable. It took me about 2 minutes to install and camping world wanted $68 to do the install. its so easy it should be a crime to pay anyone else to do it. it connects to a stock connector under the dash then mount the unit and your done. all thats left is to set the controller. that took 1 minute and i've never had to screw with it again. it was the best $150 i ever spent for a towing add.

I am starting to wonder if this is not a fluctuating power feed to the units. I use an Envoy and it does require tweeking from time to time to make sure you are not put through the windshield when you tap the brakes. Has anyone taken readings from the input leads going to the brake controller? I will try to when our rig comes back in.
