'04.5 Belt Chirp

Any one know of a fix for the belt chirp on engine shut down? Love the truck, but 80dba. chirp is annoying...

My fix was that my new 04. 5 shredded it's belt. It chirped bad from new. The new Mopar replacement belt does not... so far.

A Goodyear Gatorback belt will eliminate the chirp. I did this with my 99, so far the 03 has never chirped.

My truck came with a little cardboard piece attached to the cigarrette lighter, one of the things it stated was was the chirp was normal at shutdown.

The chirp is a Cummins characteristic
