Went to the work truck show in Balto. today, and Pacbrake was there. I got to talking to the guys there about the Pacbrake for the new 04. 5 ctd, as the website still does not show one for the 04. 5. The guys handed me literature which lists part numbers for the brake as well as accessories. They said the new brake is available now. The literature shows pics of a neat switch that mounts on the shifter of a manual as well as descriptions of an ECM bypass system which is said to reduce the delay of the brake coming on. As I have said in another post, if someone has access to a scanner, I can fax them the info so it can be put up on the TDR. GREG

Another great way to reduce the delay is to put a tank on it. This allows some additional uses for the air supply, especially if you get a tank around 2. 5 gallons.

Now the ECM bypass sounds very interesting. Greg, if you fax them to me, I can scan them. PM sent.

Is the shifter switch, a small black rocker switch? That is what we use on the 03's, and it works great.

On my '04 there is no delay of brake activation. The flash is different on the '04 ECM and does not delay 2 seconds when letting of the accelerator. I got the tank from Pac and it is not large enough. I agree with Fred and will be sourcing a larger tank and moving the air pump off the fire wall. I think the ECM control is very good on the current flash. I like the fact that it works with the cruise control going down hill.

The ECM-ByPass wiring instructions(2003) are in a PDF file on Pac's website. I downloaded them to look at since I have just ordered a Pacbrake from Desert Diesel Parts. To bypass the ecm they are using a throttle switch and a relay to disable the cruise control.
