04.5 short shifter

I see Geno's has a BD short shift kit for the 3rd gen 6spd. Is there any reason it won't work on an 04. 5? If not I may order one. Help!

i dont see why it wouldnt work... . Same body... Same transmission... Buy it. . it will work

Most of the complaints I have seen are about leakage after installation which I think relates to a sloppy installation.

What we need is a stock 6-speed shaft out of a third gen. truck so I can have some Pistol grip shifters fabricated for these trucks.

I know the guy who is reproducing these for the mopar muscle car restoration crowd. He also offers many different colored grips for these if you don't want the factory woodtone , like carbon fiber in different colors etc.

I would totally dig a pistol grip for my sixer. Tell him to tool it up!

I told him he would sell a ton of them , He wants me to find a core so he can get all the bends right , Not sure of the attachment to that part that comes out of the transmission either.

Sure would top off the interior wouldn't it?

I 've had a number of pistol grip equipped cars and I swear that thing adds 50 horse just in looks alone.

shifter

the shifter on the 6 spd. is a tube threaded onto a short threaded shaft coming out of the trans. the BD kit just replaces the piece that comes out of the trans and a spacer under the pivot housing.
