I just bought an 04 3500 CTD with 6 speed (2WD) and high ,hard worked, miles!! I have better sense but did it any way! My question:confused:after having read for an hour on the woes of these trannys in these forums. First getting used to the 6 shifter takes a while after my old 98 5 speeder shift tendencies being ingrained in my worn brain cells! My first thought after first driving this thing was fear of some synchros going south but the more I get used to it the less missed shifts and grinding and I'm wondering would the BD shift kit remedy a lot of the "sloppiness" I feel when shifting this monster?I plan on changing the gear oil this week also to see what may come out and refill with AMSOIL gear oil cause I'm sold on their products for use in everything from lawnmower to CTD!! Any thoughts??

You can also run an Eaton filter kit on one of your pto covers.

Works great and will provide longer transmission life over time.

I changed mine at 50K or so, and I think it's a very good idea. Glad I have a G56. Smooth as silk, though I do miss a gear on rare occasion (i. e 2 to 5 instead of 3).
