I have an 04 2500. My gas mileage is about 14 just drinving and pulling the boat it is about 12. I do not have a muffler on it so it would breath better. I have about 48,000 miles and have had all the tune ups done. Can someone please tell me if there is anything I can do or get the Dodge dealership to do so I can get better gas mileage.

Not being a 3rd Gen owner but trying to help a fishing partner out I researched the TSB (technical service bulletins) for your 04 truck and didn't hit on any obvious references to poor fuel mileage. I'll keep searching the old posts in this forum to see if I can help you out... .

Stay tuned,

I have a 3500 SRW 4x4 SB QC 6sp with 46k on it. I drive from vallejo to SF 70 mile round trip at 60 mph and getting 23. 5 on computer and 22 on paper that is topping off to the top if the fill each fill up. That is important if you stop the first time foam stops the pump you will gat a bad read... It seam the more miles it get the better mpg I get...

cansler, where are your at? Temperature will make a big difference in your gas milage. I'm getting about 15 mpg during my weekly normal driving. Thats 4 miles in town driving and 9 miles highway each way. When I'm on the freeway going about 80 I'll usually see 16 to 17. If I'm on the highway at about 70 I'll see my best milage, 20 mph. My milage goes up 1 or 2 from those numbers in the summer when it's warmer. Also, keep in mind, this is with the Edge/attitude on 3. Some will see better and some will see worse. I'd be concerned if your milage was under 10 MPG in town. Just my opinion.
