I have an '04 Dodge Ram 2500 automatic with about 190K miles. I just had it in the shop to have the climate control replaced & then we hooked up for a springbreak vacation pulling our 5th wheel. My wife normally drives this vehicle so I only know when something is wrong if she tells me or I happen to drive it on a weekend.

Anyway, I noticed that the "tow/haul" button on the auto transmission shift no longer works nor does the "tow/haul" message light up. I don't know if the mechanic shop inadvertantly disconnected the "tow/haul" control line or if this is something that fails from time to time..... or if there is a defective relay. The vehicle seems to be shifting thru all the normal gears & shifts to OD running about 2200 RPM at 70 MPH.

We're pulling a 34' 5th wheel & this trip wasn't too bad without the "tow/haul" switch, but I think I need to fix it or whatever is causing the problem

Any thoughts???

Since they were working under the dash I suspect the switch got disconnected somewhere. Sometimes the buttons can go bad also so its hard to tell.
