Looking for advise on how to adjust my drivers side door to stop wind noise. Iwas told there was a very detailed post on this site just can't find it. 2004.5 quad cab

You can adjust the U-bolt shaped catch in the door jamb by loosening it and moving it in about 1/8" max. Surround it with masking tape so you can see exactly how your moving it. If that doesn't help then it's probably your window run seal and it will need to be replaced.
That worked for me for several years but ultimately I am replacing the seal.
Otherwise I would not start adjusting the doors because they won't fit right and your just putting a band-aid on a bad seal. For $100 you can get both front door seals and it's a lot easier to replace them than it is to move all the hinges. It's a lot safer too as it's easy to screw up and chip paint when adjusting the hinges.

Thanks going to try now while looking at the door I did notice the top of the door was out compared to the others is there a proper method to bend the top back. Dont know if that would be good fix cause once metals bent it weakens

Mine is out a tiny bit too but I would not try to bend it. It can be corrected by adjusting the hinges but I strongly suggest not doing so because it opens a big can of worms. To keep from damaging paint you really need a door fixture and some experience. I have just enough experience to know I'll never try that again LOL!

An interesting thing I noticed.. I removed my driver door seal a few days ago and then reinstalled it. At that point I realized what was wrong with it - the seal had shrunk in its overall length about an inch. This caused it to pull away from the flange it's mounted on. I checked the other door but it was fine.
My drivers side has sat in the sun for the last ten years and it apparently shrank because of it. This finally explained why the seal looks OK but leaks so bad.

There has been an upgrade in the seal to keep the door from cutting the seal down by the bottom of the windshield. It has not helped wind noise. I did notice on an 07 that there is another redesign to the seal to fill the gap between the door and body. I have not at this time researched it to see if a door seal for an 07 will fit an 04.

Yes it will fit. The replacements cover from 1/2T 02's up to 2010 Rams. Oddly, I never had the cutting issue many early Rams had.
My buddy has an 06 and it has a different seal along the sides of the front window too. It also has a seal between the front and back door that mine never had (I installed it). Looks like it would keep more air noise out.

I bend my door last year, fairly an easy job because the door is so heavy build that you can pull with all your power on the upper window frame (glass down) and bend it only a couple millimeters.

My Jeeps door was far more easy to bend with the same problem, I think most older used cars show this problem.

I never thought much about this because it was clear for me how to solve the problem.

Can't belive how funny things they do.
Bend the door is exactly the same what they do at the Factory after fitting it, even on a Porsche they do it that way.
Every door and especially the window frame loses its tension after thousands of times slamming it close, bend it and problems are gone.
10 Second Fix without any tool, open the door, push your knee on the upper part of the door trim and then pull with your arms on the window frame, check result, and pull again if it needs more.
