Have any of you guys lost your prime after its been running good? What was the cause of lost prime , and what did you do to fix it? Do they have the fuel hose problem like the Rams did back when, and need to be changed?

Does it have an auto pressure shut off? how does that work? is it like the stock pump in that case?
The shop got it going but could not tell my son what might have been the cause, so the question.
Thanks for your response. Do you remember what pump you used? like number? what was involved?

I fixed mine by putting a fuel tank module in from an 06 dodge diesel truck, the module is exactly the same just without the pump. There is a wire to run the pump that stops under the back seat somewhere. It has all the proper control logic and already has a fuse for it in under the hood if i remember correctly.

I was loosing prime about two or three times a year before the mod and never have again after.

Nschroeder sent you a PM.
Bob V I'll have him check it. What should he do in order to check it? is it loose? or wire connection? Or leaking fuel.
Thank guys for your input.

Stock fuel filter head is notorious for leaking. To the point DC came out with a new filter head. I did what was mentioned above; my 06 fuel canister in the tank with a stanadyne FM100 filter head and 2 micron filter. No problems in many years. Plus I run a john deere filter element on the head. It's really cool to pop the hood and see JD anything.

Just to bring this topic back, My son installed a 05 Cummins modual in the tank, with the built in pump and is very satisfied with the results. He had a problem with the the wiring but got that straightened out. The Libby runs smoother, starts better and on his readout display is showing 2 mpg better that before.
What other mods are good to do to these JEEPS?
So thanks to all who responded, This is a good mod for these vehicles. To bad the bean counters had to cut the pump.

egr

Disconnect the MAF sencer, this turns off the egr system, but you will have a CEL. I will have to find the website that has a ton of info. Lost kj?
