Hi guys,I have a couple questions,I'm trying to sell my '03 1 ton DRW 4x4 CC Laramie Sport w/99K miles and a fella is interested in trading me for his '05 SLT SB 3/4 CC 4x4 w/automatic w/75K miles. My truck is 250 HP and as far as I'm concerned a little underpowered. Are the '05's, the 325 (????) horse engine? I haven't kept up with HP figures since buying mine. Do the '05 headlights suck as bad as the '03's? If so,has anyone tried the headlights Gino's has? I would probably upgrade any ways if there any good. I have cussed my headlights since the day I bought it.

Is there anything I need to watch out for on the '05's? If its more HP then my '03,how are the transmissions holding up behind the engine. I've always had the noides about adding a programmer to my truck in fear of smoking the transmission. Thanks for the input/help

Yes the 05's are 325hp/600tq. I believe the headlights are the same 03/04/05, personally I cannot see what everyone is complaining about in regards to the headlights.

In stock form I believe the auto's are standing up just fine.

The 325hp motors do not get as good of mileage as the 03/04 motors, most believe that's due to the third injection event.

I don't know about the 03, but the 05 headlights definitely sck for night driving--if you are just using them for running during the day, they are fine. :-laf:-laf

I agree. The headlights in my '83 Mercedes are superior to the headlights on the '03 Dodge. I guess the Teutonic influence got lost along the way.

I have an 05, 6 speed standard, which I believe is a great truck.

The headlights do suck, but I make up for the near distance lack of lighting by keeping my fog lights on all the time.

the 05's have the 325/610 motor. as far as mileage, i hear some aren't getting doing so good. i have consistantly been in the 19-21mpg range (empty) w/ 35's.

the 04. 5 & newer moved the LP in the tank also. everything else should be close to the same.

Thanks for the info guys,I decided to keep my truck.

If you want to up your power look at a Smarty Jr. It will bring your programming up to the level of a HO motor and add to it from there. So even the lowest setting is about 100 more hp than you have now.

Do you know what trans you have? If its a 48RE it should hold SW1 no problem on the Smarty Jr. But a tq converter and valve body are never a bad idea.
