To all 05' and later Fass users - Have you had any issues with the fact that you've pulled the fuel pump relay out? I don't have a FASS pump setup, but did do the same thing electrically to get my Walbro system operational. It is fine as far as I can tell, however, now that I plugged my XZT box back in, I don't have that XZT power. And all system lights on the box are showing correct operation. According to Quad, it's possible that I've been running in "limp mode" due to the fact that the ecm thinks I've lost my pump. And I did get the p0628 code which is for the pump. Of course I do have more than enough pressure at the cp3 (20+ psi) but the computer doesn't agree. Anyone else have this happen? Quad thinks that no matter what box anyone has, the ecm won't allow fueling or boost past a certain level when in this limp mode. Truck runs fine, just doesn't have the "extra power" any other box or programmer would make.

In my case, the stock pump power wires run a relay to power the FASS pump. The relay provides enough resistance to fool the ECM into thinking there's a stock fuel pump hooked up.

Been in touch with Rip from Sourceautomotive and Jeff from Schied Diesel. Fass tech people have been notified. When I hear something, I'll post.

I guess there are a few out there with fass on 05 or later, but not nearly as many as earlier years. Surprising those who've done this haven't reported, as I'm sure one of the main reasons you "step up" to a fass system is because of other mods... . time will tell.

AMassaro - I have a Fass on my '05. I took the stock fuel pump relay out and fuse tapped the 20 amp cigarette lighter fuse to power the Fass (as per the instructions). My check engine light is NOT on, but I too have a p0628 code when I three key the ignition.

It bothers me that the code is present, however I can tell you my truck is not in limp mode, nor do I suspect yours is either (I dyno'ed 500. 08 hp in October with this set-up, sans injectors). I've been told that limp mode is unmistakable, as if the truck is powered by a lawn mower engine.

Maybe it's something specific to Quad boxes, or a problem with the Quad box you have.

Definitely let us know what you learn.
